Paddling the Yukon River is a fascinating and highly enjoyable river adventure designed for both beginner and intermediate canoeists. It offers an excellent opportunity for independent travelers and those with an adventurous spirit to explore the stunning natural beauty of the Yukon in a safe and memorable way.

Example Itinerary

Day One - We will greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel where you will meet the other participants and have a pre-trip meeting to cover all details of your amazing journey The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day Two -After any last-minute shopping and time to repack your gear. We will make sure that you have everything you need on the river before you leave civilization. We will depart for Carmacks via the famous Klondike Highway and set up camp next to the Yukon River.

Day Three to Nine - The canoe trip down the Yukon River begins. With some helpful instructions, if needed, your paddling strokes will soon become effortless but effective. Let the beautiful scenery captivate you while the Yukon River meanders its way north towards the Gold Rush City. Watch out for grizzly, black bear, moose, wolf and other Yukon wildlife which can sometimes be seen along the river. Highlights include world-class fishing, the famous Five Finger Rapids, Fort Selkirk and numerous old settler cabins on the river banks. All-day long the group will encounter beautiful mountain views. Camping in tents and eating by the campfire while under the “midnight sun”, provides the foundation for a truly unique wilderness experience.

Day Ten -We arrive in the famous “City of Gold”, Dawson City, which marks the end of our river adventure. We will be staying in a hotel for the night as we embrace the Gold Rush era. The remainder of the day will be spent taking in the history of beautiful Dawson City. After a casual dinner, we will head to Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Gambling Hall for a night set to the 1898 Klondike era.

Day Eleven - Today we head back to Whitehorse. After a morning of exploring Dawson City’s many attractions, including Jack London’s Cabin and the historic Gold Dredge #4. You will spend one last night in the Wilderness City.

Day Twelve - Departure day.

Notes:  This is an expedition-style trip, and changes to the itinerary may be necessary due to weather or other conditions. Any changes are left to the discretion of the guide.
