Introducing our newest hires, but we’re still looking!

Klondike Travel and Yukon Tours are looking to hire an individual who is awesome! Yes, that is a prerequisite to working with us. We did just hire two new employees and hope to find one more to join our team. Read on for an introduction to our two newest hires and to see what we are looking for in another.

Sad News First

In early December, Adam and I had to say goodbye to our tripod, Amy. She was an excellent travel partner who was always up for any adventure we planned and she often made it into many of the blogs. You will likely still see her in photos and mentioned in future blogs, as I finally get caught up in writing about all the adventures we embarked on this summer. After having a pup in our lives for over 16 years, we knew it wouldn’t be long before we added another furry buddy to our lives. Amy left some big pawprints to be filled!

Foster Failures

It was a Monday. Yukon Animal Rescue Network (YARN) was in desperate need of foster homes for some puppies arriving, in about an hour, from Watson Lake. I messaged Adam to make sure he too was onboard to take in some puppies, until they could be adopted, he agreed! Two litters, totalling seven puppies, came to stay with us- four of which went to another foster home. Right away, I knew one of our three foster pups was going to stay! The next day, the puppies started their careers at Yukon Tours and Klondike Travel. They were excellent ambassadors for our beautiful territory, allowing guests to snuggle them as we discussed tour options. Long story short- two of the pups were officially adopted by us. Rosey and Gerty have permanently joined our team at home and in the office! And guess what? You can too, well the office part!

Still looking to hire, but a human this time

Klondike Travel and Yukon Tours are in search of a human to work in our downtown office! We would love to add a friendly, dog-lover who could tolerate my awful singing along with the radio to our team of travel professionals. No travel experience? That’s okay! General Yukon knowledge is required, but we will coach you to be a Yukon Tours expert.

So what are we looking for?

  1. Someone who loves and lives in the Yukon and is passionate when they talk about it

  2. Someone who loves exploring, so they can add a personal touch for our clients

  3. Must love dogs

  4. Must understand the layout of the Yukon (distances to places and where they are on a map)

  5. Someone who has computer skills (including Excel, Word and Google Drive)

  6. Someone who can learn in a variety of ways and is an expert multi-tasker

  7. Someone with awesome customer service skills and confidence

  8. Someone who will help us finish our pot of coffee or at least encourage us to

  9. Someone to be part of our team, not just a coworker

  10. Someone with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Why would you want to work with us?

  1. Office dog(s)

  2. We are a tight-knit group who wants to hear your ideas and opinions

  3. You get to meet a lot of fun and interesting people

  4. Travel perks

  5. Afternoon coffee included

  6. We are a busy agency, but we also know how to have fun

  7. Convenient Main Street location

  8. No two days will be the same

  9. We love our community and like to give back (fundraising, supporting and volunteering)

  10. Now, more than ever, travel professionals are needed- no better time to join our team!

  11. The boss is pretty cool, even if she’s not a great squash player (re-match Carmen?)

If you are interested in a position with us, we welcome you to apply using this link. We look forward to expanding our team. Apply today!
