Dive into some of the northern culture and join different activities that showcase the northern way of living both past and present. You will visit a Musher kennel, the Yukon Wildlife Preserve and taste some northern culinary treats.


Tour Highlights

•Learn about the First Nations culture of the area with a tour to Carcross and Teslin along the South Klondike Highway

•Learn about the mushing culture and join them for dinner for a taste of Northern Cuisine

Package Includes 5 nights accommodation at Whitehorse downtown hotel, Choice of sightseeing tour (bus or bicycle), Wildlife and Hot springs tour, Visit to Musher kennel with dinner, Carcross and Teslin culture tour, Half day sightseeing flight, and airport shuttle service.

Not included in the package; Transportation to and from Whitehorse, meals, personal extras, gratuities, travel insurance.

Itinerary


Day One

Arrive in Whitehorse, Capital City of the Yukon Territory.


Transfer to your hotel located in the heart of the city, not far from the banks of the Yukon River. Whitehorse is small and easy to explore on foot or by vehicle.

Day Two


In the morning, there will be a Wilderness City Tour to introduce you to Whitehorse, either by bus or by bicycle. The afternoon will get you up close with Yukon's local wildlife such as moose, bison, muskox, caribou, and mountain goats. Relax in the mineral waters of the hot springs after your visit with the animals and soak in the beauty of the mountains around you.

Day Three


The morning is yours to relax and grab coffee and breakfast at one of the many popular local cafes. In the afternoon you will visit a musher's kennel to meet the dogs and learn all about the culture around dog sledding. You will get to experience a northern dinner at the kennel and taste some of the delicious local ingredients.

Day Four


Today you will head out on your sightseeing flight. Take advantage and soak in those wonderful views of the Yukon landscape and scenery as you learn about the history of this great territory. This is a view of the area that not many get to experience so make sure to capture lots of fantastic photos. The remainder of the day is yours to explore more of the areas that caught your interest during any of the tours so far or to simply wander around downtown and check out the shopping and local businesses.

Day Five


This morning you will depart for a full day of cultural sightseeing. This full day tour will take you to explore the Southern Lakes region. Experience stunning mountain vistas with stops at Emerald Lake, the village of Carcross and Bennett Lake. You will then drive through the Tagish Lake area and south to visit the incredible Teslin Tlingit Heritage Centre to learn about the rich heritage and culture of the inland Tlingit First Nation and hear their stories. On the way back to Whitehorse, you will drive past Marsh Lake, the Yukon version of 'Cottage Country.'

Day Six


Today is departure day. You will transfer back to the airport and say farewell!
